In 2012, Katja Knaus and Benedikt Bosch launched their studio for architecture and design in Stuttgart after working for Behnisch Architekten for several years. Their work is guided by their philosophy of creating living spaces through the exploration of space, material, and construction – aspects that not only have a lasting impact on the perception of space but also social interaction. Studio Yonder is best known for its award-winning single-family homes, including its first, a small vacation home in Vorarlberg, as well as its renovation of Stefan Behnisch’s home. What their designs have in common is their consistent implementation of a compelling concept.
Haus S represents a plan by Stuttgart’s Studio Yonder for a single-family home in Oberreute. Initial objections from the local council mean that the wooden structure may be lower than planned, but is no less sophisticated.
