Energy-efficient living

For a young family, Pedevilla Architects have realized a super-efficient house set on a slope. The tower-like monoliths of insulating concrete make perfect use of the building lot.

Automated production

Engineered houses are currently experiencing a boom. Many are modular and produced with a great degree of prefabrication, but few are automated to this extent or made locally. At Auar (Automated Architecture Ltd – pronounced like “our” – industrial robots do the assembly work. A flexible, modular wood-building system such as this should keep construction and costs under control.

Serpentine Pavilion opens in London

Every summer, the Serpentine Gallery invites an architect or artist to create their first building in England. This year's pavilion, the Black Chapel, was designed by Chicago artist Theaster Gates.

DETAIL Award 2022

At the beginning of June, Vestre opens its new production facility in the middle of the Norwegian forest.
