Temporary Pavilion in Seoul
Known as the “Prada Transformer”, this temporary pavilion has a variable appearance. Designed to show the relationships between the fashion world and modern art, it was erected in Seoul for a period of five months. The tetrahedron-like form can be set down on any of its faces. Each side has an individual geometry that corresponds to a specific user type. The hexagon, for example, is for fashion displays, the cruciform shape for art exhibitions, the rectangle for film showings and the circle for special events. Container-like ancillary spaces lined up close to the pavilion form the main entrance at the point of contact. The Transformer consists of a steel load-bearing structure with a translucent membrane skin.
