Translucent cube
Taipei Performing Arts Centre
Taipei’s new centre for performing arts combines three very different auditoria, some of which can be combined with each other, to create a flexible venue. The new building on the eastern edge of central Taipei, which cost around 180 million euros presents itself as a translucent cube onto which the metal-clad volumes of the three auditoria – Grand Theatre, Blue Box and Globe Playhouse – are docked.
