Studio Sozia
After studying in Karlsruhe, Munich, and Naples, Lisa Häberle and Valerio Calavetta established Studio Sozia in 2021, an architecture firm based in Karlsruhe. Their work addresses social, ecological, economic, and aesthetic considerations through experimental projects. Their first collaborative project in Breisach, Germany, is a flexibly designed office building that anticipates potential residential use in the future. The design allows for easy conversion and adaptive reuse with minimal intervention at the fit-out level. This project has earned multiple awards and was a finalist for the DAM Prize in 2024. In addition to their architectural practice, Häberle and Calavetta also engage in teaching and research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), with a focus on designing for disassembly, as well as the principles of building design and construction.
