Sound-insulating Floor

If the presence of technical installations in the load-bearing ceilings and floors of large rooms mean that no further sound-optimising measures can be taken, a special floor from Knauf Integral can be used instead. Gifafloor FHBakustik is a system comprising of perforated panels, sound-transparent covering and acoustic fleece on the underside, which absorbs most of the sound waves. These penetrate the floor and are no longer reflected, thus reducing the reverberation time in the room. The element sizes are 120 × 60 and 60 × 60 cm. The solution is particularly suitable for large rooms that are subject to heavy use but still have high sound insulation requirements. These include libraries, universities, call centres, hotel lobbies and open-plan offices.
