Solar Architecture - Research and Development

It has only been in recent times that solar heating systems have been widely incorporated into the planning of administrative buildings. At the Institute for Construction and Design and the IBK Research and Development at the University of Stuttgart, two research projects are being conducted which coordinate the functional technology of such systems with architecturally pleasing building elements. One alternative is the integration of flat collectors into the building envelope, while the other considers the efficiency of an energy facade which collects solar power while simultaneously providing sun protection.
