Modular and sustainable
This year, Czech manufacturer Ton presented its handmade furniture pieces in a rather different framework. The presentation paid particular attention to the subject of sustainability. Curved wooden walls complemented the company’s exhibition stand, which featured reusable modules and thus reflected the manufacturer’s guiding philosophy.

Upholstered and logical
At the fair, the company introduced an upholstered version of Josef Hoffmann’s original model A 811, which has kept the design’s characteristic circular perforation. The rollout of the A 822 collection offers a modern addition to the classic line without changing its essential nature.
Moreover, the classic A 811 has been expanded by a lounge chair. With this addition, Studio Claesson Koivisto Rune have completed a product line consisting of a chair, an armchair and a barstool. The pieces are available in a number of variants: with or without armrests, upholstered or unupholstered. They can be used both in the private sphere as well as in commercial spaces.

Low, but crucial
The fair presented a further coffee table for the P.O.V. modular system designed by Kaschkasch Studios. The P.O.V. series, which is known for its rounded, triangular, organic shape, now has three additional versions.

The tables are available in three heights: 55 cm, and 42 to 45 cm, with diameters ranging from 52 to 130 cm. Furthermore, the series is offered in three different woods – oak, beech and walnut. The table can also be wired for electricity as needed. Paula Möller

Contemporary furniture
TON rather describes the history of bentwood furniture as an evolution and has shown with its appearance at the Salone del Mobile in Milan that the hand-bent furniture classic is brave enough to continue its history and thus outlast generations.
