Quality management for healthy indoor spaces
Architekt Thomas Pucher, Graz
Authors: Christine Overath, Justus Kampp
Air is our most important form of sustenance, nevertheless the quality of indoor air in buildings is often disregarded to this day.
Gas-releasing building products, their incorrect application, inadequate ventilation and human-caused pollution such as carbon dioxide or mildew, lead to inhabitancy conditions that are neither comfortable nor, in the long run, healthy. The article describes what architects and planners can do during different phases of design and construction to ensure optimum air quality in buildings.
