We present three sculptural viewing platforms that have convinced our editors in every respect: in an interplay with the landscape, an observation tower in the Netherlands, a staircase leading to nowhere in Belgium, and an observatory in Denmark offer new perspectives on the surrounding nature.
De Onlanden Observation Tower by Ateliereen Architecten
Ateliereen Architecten have devised the way up to the viewing platform at (of the) De Onlanden observation tower to be an experience in itself.

In the Belgian town of Tielt-Winge, it is possible to admire the Flemish landscape from the top of a stairway leading to nowhere.

Bird-Watching on the Fjord: Tipperne Bird Sanctuary
The bird-watching tower, which becomes wider as it rises, juts above the old, thatched country house. The tower offers a view of the broad, flat landscape of the Tipperne bird sanctuary. It is one of three buildings which, apart from the research station itself, are used as bird-watching instruments. (are used as instruments for migratory bird watching).
