MoDus Architects
Sandy Attia, born in Cairo, and Matteo Scagnol, a native of Trieste, met while studying for their master’s in architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. After receiving their degree in 2000, they founded MoDus Architects. The work of the Bressanone-based practice combines the formative and cultural backgrounds of its two founding partners. Attia and Scagnol also draw inspiration from the local context in which their projects are set. Their approach is evident in their conver sion of Hotel Icaro on the Alpe di Siusi.
