Max Hacke & Leonhard Clemens
Max Hacke (left) focuses on the adaptability and flexibility of architecture. After studying in Stuttgart and London, he established his practice in Berlin and also teaches architecture at TU Berlin and TU Braunschweig. In 2024, he and Gustav Düsing won the DAM Prize for their design of the TU Braunschweig Study Pavilion. Hacke collaborated with architect and photographer Leonhard Clemens on the Berlin apartment building, which creatively tests the limits of building regulations. Clemens, who also studied in Stuttgart and London, co-founded the collaborative architecture practice LNCL in Berlin. He has held various academic roles at the University of Cyprus, DIA Dessau, Leibniz University Hannover, and the AA Visiting School Côte d’Azur. Alongside his architectural practice and teaching, Clemens investigates overlooked aspects and the production conditions of architecture through his photography-based research projects.
