Living in a Triangle: Single-Family Home in Sweden

The triangular house in the heart of Sweden is a bit like a treehouse for grown-ups. Made completely of wood, it offers many opportunities for climbing both inside and on the façade or roof. It also has enough space for a family of four. An A-frame of wooden beams forms the basic shape of the house. The outer walls and roof are of Swedish pine; the ceilings, walls and floors are clad with plywood. Even the furniture consists to a large extent of plywood. It was assembled on site. Explicit specifications for the project included a bedroom under the starry sky, cooking areas both inside and out and a quiet corner for reading. The communal areas and bedrooms are distributed over the three main levels. The split-level scheme has created further usable areas around the stairway. Large windows allow light to stream in and provide spectacular views over the surrounding scenery.
