An annular pedway

The annular pedestrian bridge known as Tondo spans the Leuvensweg in the centre of Brussels. It draws a ring between the first upper level of the Palais des Nations and the second upper storey of the Forum Building, forming a short-cut for the employees who work in the offices of the Belgian parliament. The mirrored outer shell of the pedway reflects the surrounding urban space. The floor-to-ceiling glazing inside the ring allows a view of the opposite side of the passageway. Tondo, seemingly a floating sculpture, enriches the metropolitan environment.
