Fuori Tutto: Demogo Shows the Gembloux Town Hall

In collaboration with Fuori Tutto, the Maxxi Museum in Rome is hosting an exhibition about the current creative scene in Italy with works by various architecture studios and artists. 

Intergenerational dialogue

The young Italian studio Demogo is represented as one of four contributors in the area of architecture. In addition, projects by Giorgio Grassi, Matilde Cassani and Francesca Torzo are also being shown. These central players demonstrate the diversity of Italy’s architecture scene over different generations. What they all share is their international spheres of activity. Indeed, the museum’s selection has enabled a multifarious dialogue. 

The model at the centre

The areas of painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, video, installation, performance and sound experiment are all part of the show, which was conceived as an open deposit. Among other things, works never exhibited before will be on display. A special focus of the architecture-related exhibits is the model as a means of communication in design. 

The town hall of Gembloux

Demogo are presenting the town hall in the small Belgian city of Gembloux. The model, which consists of copper and red concrete, expressively shows the building’s materiality as well as its spatial relationship to its neighbouring structures. 

Copper and glass

Several irregularly shaped fragments with a copper facade and glazed interstitial spaces produce a building whose appearance changes depending on the weather. The new town hall and its copper facade fit harmoniously into the urban environment of the historical Old Town, which is characterized by typical Belgian brick buildings. The entire range of works in the exhibition can be viewed in Rome until 25 February 2024.
