Functional Extensions

Graphisoft has further optimised its BIM software Archicad 25. The new version simplifies interaction with the included specialist planners and takes numerous client requests into account. It also includes various functional enhancements. Thus, the stair tool no longer only measures distortions in the bow but also in the string. When minimum landing lengths are exceeded, users are automatically presented with a choice of solutions showing how to distribute the additional length. When planning slots and openings, the opening tool allows free polygonal shapes in addition to the basic rectangle and circle shapes. The quantity survey and quantity takeoff functions have been revised, especially with regard to the multi-layer components and elements. For walls, ceilings and roofs, each layer in the component is calculated separately and with three values – gross, net and conditional. Due to the conditional quantity takeoff in the individual layers of the components, Archicad 25 is able to output VOB-compliant masses and quantities. These can be transferred to AVA via IFC for further processing.
