Fresh-air and Soundproofing

The Thermo NB top box from manufacturer DuoTherm fulfils the requirements of a permanent fresh-air supply with simultaneous high sound insulation. To ensure this, the supplier of screening and solar protection systems uses Aereco-brand fans that are installed in a slot milled into the box. The slot has a shaft with plaster cover, so that flat facades can also be realised. The system is equipped with sound absorbers made of an open-pored material. Their position in two places inside the box ensures good sound insulation. Optionally, the top box can be fitted with a labyrinthine air duct that deflects and breaks sound waves several times, but without compromising the air circulation. In combination with the sound absorbers, the R_w-value is up to 42 dB. The good thermal insulation properties mean that it can also be used in passive houses.
