The occasion of Fabricate 2014 will also serve as a book launch for The Robotic Touch - How Robots Change Architecture (Park Books), the first anthology on the application of robotics in architecture and the chair's latest publication. Ranging from the robotically fabricated brick facade for the Gantenbein Vineyard and the design of robotically fabricated high-rises in Singapore to the employment of flying robots the book will feature a large selection of projects emerging at ETH Zurich since 2005. An exhibition with the same title will showcase over 1,000 physical exhibits and provide further glimpses into the "making" with robots.
Fabricate 2014 focuses on four topics: Challenging the Thresholds, Living Assemblies, Forming Machines und Material Exuberance. Keynote speakers are: Neil Gershenfeld, Mario Carpo, Achim Menges, Virginia San Fratello and Ronald Rael. Conference language is English.
