The architect and urban planner graduated from ETSAB in Barcelona in 1997 and has been Associate Professor of Urban Design and Spatial Planning there since 1999. He also lectures at other institutions, recently at Harvard University. From 2015 to 2019, Daniel Mòdol was City Councillor for Architecture, Cultural Heritage, and Urban Planning, successfully campaigning for Barcelona to become the World Capital of Architecture 2026. He has run his own architectural practice for 25 years, currently employing 15 people.
In transforming a hardware store into an office building, Daniel Modòl and his studio have opened up the facades and revealed the steel supporting structure.
