CO2-negative Carpet Tiles

Foto: Interface

With the Embodied Beauty carpet tile collection, Interface is launching its first CO2-negative floor coverings. Designer Kari Pei's designs combine the principles and aesthetics of Japanese culture with everything from narrow monochromatic patterns to large-scale graphic tufted textures. The seven designs and six colourings include three CO2-negative, cradle-to-gate product variations – Shishu Stitch, Tokyo Texture and Zen Stitch – that combine the new CQuest BioX backing with special yarns and tufting processes. This means that they bind more carbon than all the manufacturer's previous textile products, and their CO2 footprint is minus 0.26 kg/m2. Four other products in muted greys and warm and cool shades – Geisha Gather, Sashiko Stitch, Simple Sash and Vintage Kimono – are CO2 neutral throughout the product lifecycle, as are all Interface floorings. All the designs can be combined with one another.
