The first exhibition, Critical Care: Architecture for a Broken Planet, shows 21 spectacular international projects aimed at demonstrating how architecture and urban development can contribute to a better future.
The painstakingly selected projects, which come from Africa, Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean, the USA and Latin America, are subdivided into five subject areas: Care of Water and Land; Care of Public Space; Care of Competencies; Care of Maintenance; and Care of Local Production.

All these examine specific problems in architecture and approaches to solving them. Large-scale drawings, objects and videos offer insight into the design process, execution and ultimate use.

The second exhibition, Care for Space for Care: Scenes from Flanders and Brussels, connects the international case studies of Critical Care with nine projects from Flanders and Brussels. Its objective is to motivate people to give greater attention to both the ecological and the social responsibility inherent in today’s architecture. Furthermore, it reminds us that architecture is made by, for and with people.

Both exhibitions document projects characterized by light maintenance, the use of long-lasting materials and a respectful attitude towards the environment. After all, all these parameters affect the social components of buildings and those who live in them.
