Best of Climate & Resources
© Sebastian Kolm
At the end of the year, we present three contributions from our online section Climate & Resources, which have convinced our editorial team in every respect. A research building in Coburg, the largest school in timber construction in Rinteln and a cultural and commercial building in Basel are convincing examples of best practice for the circular economy.
The Circular Tiny House on the design campus of the Coburg University of Applied Sciences is particularly special, for it is made exclusively of reused, renewable and regenerative materials.

The largest timber-built school in northern Germany has been erected in Rinteln in Lower Saxony. The integrated comprehensive school by Bez + Kock also scores in terms of energy efficiency.

For the Elys cultural and commercial building in Basel's Lysbüchel district, Baubüro in situ had the approx. 1000 m² wood-framed facade mainly built out of used building components. In redeveloping the former Coop distribution centre, the architectural office limited itself to the most necessary structural interventions.
