Avenier Cornejo architectes
After studying at École nationale supérieure d'architecture (ENSA) de Paris-Malaquais, Christelle Avenier and Miguel Cornejo spent two months in Chile on an Électra grant and went on to work for various firms in Santiago, San Francisco, and Paris – where they launched their own architectural practice in 2006. Just one year later they received their first commissions for social housing. Avenier Cornejo Architectes have since designed numerous projects in the educational, health, and cultural sectors. The work of Christelle Avenier, Miguel Cornejo, and their nine team members is distinguished by the use of simple forms and details that underscore the buildings’ materiality. One such example is the energy-plus apartment building on Rue Charenton in Paris, which they realized along with two other social housing buildings in 2019.
