Ambient Noises Off – Good Room Acoustics On

Ensuring good room acoustics, however, is a complex task, because every room sounds different. “Companies must therefore develop an understanding of how ambient noises can influence the activities of their employees”, says Christoffer Süss, Head of Marketing at Palmberg. Room acoustic optimisation therefore requires planning appropriate to the situation, first-class materials and professional execution. The result should sound pleas ant, look good and make itself useful in the room. It should decrease the noise level, increase concentration and well-being and thus increase the motivation and performance of the employees. “Good room acoustics mean a win-win situation for everyone.” As a solution, the company offers the Terio Plus partition-wall system and the Disc room divider. The Terio Plus partition-wall system shields work surfaces both visually and acoustically and enables communication, creativity and concentration to be linked thanks to the wide range of possible applications. However, since partition walls in high rooms are often insufficient for optimising acoustics, the partition-wall system also includes table tops, multipanels, baffles as well as wall and ceiling absorbers. The large selection of fabric colours also offers plenty of design freedom. With the Disc room divider, Palmberg is paying homage to the CD. Identical in shape to the latter, the Disc not only provides visual privacy with a pinnable privacy screen, but also absorbs sound at the workplace. In addition, the “quiet disc” can be easily moved without endangering one's back by means of smooth rotation.
