Albemarle Music Centre opens in Hull, UK

Albemarle Music Centre, Hull, United Kingdom

A new music centre for school children opened in early April in the city of Hull, UK. The design for the £ 3 million- building was delivered by London-based Holder Mathias Architects.

Worldarchitecturenews.com reports the opening of “a new striking landmark for Hull”. The Albemarle Music Centre includes an auditorium large enough to receive almost 200 visitors. Built on three floors, it is also home to the music service and expects almost 600 musicians per week. The City of Hull music service offers music support to all primary, secondary and special schools in Hull, and to further educational colleges. The project is part of the St. Stephen’s regeneration development.

Chris Hall of Holder Mathias Architects said in an interview with Worldarchitecturenews: “The Albemarle Music Centre is a jewel in the St Stephen’s scheme. We have worked alongside the City of Hull and our client, ING Real Estate Development to create a building that will serve schools in the area well, and be something of which the people of Hull will be proud.”
