A Modern Mosaic

He developed the pattern for Din after analysing the district’s 1950s architecture, the structures and facades of which are based on the idea of modularity. The Italian manufacturer’s collection includes four different elements, two square and two rectangular sized 15 × 15 cm, 7.4 × 15 cm, 7.4 × 7.4 cm and 3.6 × 7.4 cm respectively, and are offered in a palette of eight colours and two finishes, matte and glossy. The formats are modular, with a joint of 2 mm. Din offers a range of six special tiles for angles and profiles that allow the creation of innovative architectural solutions and furnishings. The colour spectrum matches the 1950s colour scheme of the Hansaviertel, alternating between rich and light tones. Old pink and rust red are available as complementary colours to pistachio and spruce green. For complementary contrasts, the tiles are available in pearl white and asphalt black, as well as a calm blue.
