For the tenth time, this year’s International High-Rise Award will be jointly presented to the world’s most innovative skyscrapers by the City of Frankfurt am Main, the Deutsches Architekturmuseum and the DeKa Bank.

The architecture prize is internationally considered one of the most significant distinctions for buildings with a minimum height of 100 m. From more than 1000 new high-rises built in the past two years, the Deutsche Architekturmuseum has selected 34 international projects from 13 different countries.

Two projects from Germany are among the nominations: the Senckenberg Quartier in Frankfurt am Main by Cyrus Moser Architekten and the One skyscraper, also in Frankfurt am Main, by Meurer Architekten. Apart from the two towers in Frankfurt, the European nominations are the TrIIIple Towers in Vienna by Henke Schreieck Architekten and London’s One Crown Place by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates.

Nine of the nominations stand in China. As in previous years, this is the country where the most high-rises are being built: in fact, every third building or so features a height of 100 m. Further selected projects are located in the USA, Canada, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Australia and Algeria.

The winning project of the International High-Rise Award will be announced on 8 November 2022 at the Paulskirche in Frankfurt am Main. As of 9 November, the exhibition “Best High-Rises, Internationaler Hochhaus Preis 2022/23” will present all the nominated buildings in the Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. Models, large-format photos, drawings, texts and films will document the winners as well as all the nominated projects.
