Our Favourites: Three Swiss buildings by Barozzi Veiga

The extension of the Museum of Fine Arts in Chur, the Tanzhaus on the banks of the Limmat in Zurich and the Musée Cantonal des Beaux-Arts in Lausanne.

Palladio lives on: Expansion of the Grisons Museum of Fine Arts Chur

In 2012, Barozzi Veiga won the international competition for the expansion of the Grisons Museum of Fine Arts Chur. The project was completed in summer 2016. The building is perfectly integrated into the urban landscape and creates a connection to the original structure, Villa Planta. To achieve this, the architects took up the attributes of the villa and reinterpreted them.

Terraces on the Banks of the Limmat: Tanzhaus Zürich

On the north bank of the Limmat, Barozzi Veiga have most unobtrusively added Tanzhaus Zürich to the topography. Terraces on both levels of the tiered building extend the public space from the riverside pathway up to the street.
