Our Favourites: Three Buildings Made of Brick in Germany
A community centre in Stuttgart, a multifaceted residential building in Münster and a school extension in Cologne.
Larch Wood and Brick: St. Peter's Parish Centre in Stuttgart
After demolishing the dilapidated district church from the 1970s, Kamm Architekten designed a new spatial structure consisting of a church hall, community centre and day care centre. Cold-warm contrasts formulate the colour concept: warm larch wood and beige bricks are juxtaposed with cool exposed concrete and white plaster

Thinking Around the Corner: Residential Building by Hehnpohl Architektur in Münster
The residential building by Hehnpohl Architektur in Münster's Buddenstraße responds to the urban context in a variety of ways. The façade is as multifaceted as the interior spaces. (As multifaceted as the facade is, as diversely structured are the interiors.) The result is a varied sequence of rooms that is supplied with ample daylight through the roof.

Mit Gottfried Böhm als Nachbar: Schulerweiterung und Wohnen von LRO
A choir rehearsal room, a refectory and various rehearsal rooms for the Cathedral Singing School are housed in the new building next to the Church of Christ's Resurrection. The brick colouring of the facing shell takes up the materialisation of the church, but the building is by no means to be read as a formal imitation.
