DETAIL English 3/2016 - Concept
A typical visitor centre must fulfil a variety of functions: it receives visitors, provides information about the specific place, serves as point of departure for guided tours and individual sightseeing, and contains both a café and the unavoidable souvenir shop. The form it takes varies as markedly as the accompanying attraction: some of our examples are nestled in their surroundings, while others stand out against the backdrop of sublime landscapes. Construction methods vary as well, from glass and concrete to vernacular interpretations.
