The entire range of structural materials is used in the examples shown, including one that may be regarded as exotic in many parts of the world, namely earth. In this way, the Ricola herbal centre near Basle seeks to demonstrate its closeness to the site and its environmental awareness. The McLaren Production Centre near London, on the other hand, with a working space distinguished by the use of ceramic tiles, has more in common with a laboratory than a classical automobile works, reflecting the elaborate production methods of this sportscar manufacturer.
