Higher-Density Housing
Urban housing developments today have to accommodate many different forms of dwelling, often at the interface between living and work in a digitally cross-linked society.
In their Hamburg project (p. 196), LAN Architects of Paris have created a wide range of type. An astonishing wealth of layouts has also been achieved by Hierl Architects in their high-rise block in Munich – without needing to stack storeys repetitively on top of each other (p. 184). The student hostel in Paris by OFIS (p. 168) shows two quite different faces: a sculptural, animated show front and the entrance side with its access galleries.
